It's actually the top of the internal screen and holds the screen together. **Q: Is this glass screen protector like the tempered glass screen protector?** A: This product tore the screen off of my flip phone when I took it off to put a new one on. The adhesive used on this protector is not good for these screens. The flips screen is made of a different material and because of this can be damaged very easily. I have not had any problems with this case.
