## Description

Math can be a mental minefield for many, but this essential home-study guide ensures everything adds up. This comprehensive math book for primary school children and their parents keeps the subject simple from start to finish. Whether solving subtraction, mastering multiples, or deciphering division, How to be Good at Math has got you covered. Eyecatching graphics and step-by-step sequences work together to lay the foundations of numeracy. There is plenty of fun to be had with exciting examples to aid accessibility and understanding. You'll fly down a zip wire to get the gist of geometry, time a robot runner in the race to deduce decimals, and use space scales to weigh yourself on giant planet Jupiter. Made with home learning in mind, How to be Good at Math also contains memorable facts and extra challenges to refresh your knowledge throughout. Primary school math can be practiced again and again to ensure this tricky topic is easier than ever before.

Review: Great for a large age and interest range - My math-obsessed 7 year old takes this book to bed with him. He has taught himself about prime and square numbers. I think this book would be a great fit for later elementary and middle school age kids who are interested in math. It's also a good read for teens or adults who want a brush up on mathematical concepts. I'm weak at math, and looking through the book with my son has been a great refresher.
Review: Great for At Home Teaching or Supplemental Help for Homework - I got this book because I saw it at one of the math centers my child attends. It's a great book because it has clear images (most in color) and very concise explanations and multiple examples of various math fundamentals. This is great for the advanced math learners in K-1, but also for regular students who need additional help with explanations to understand core math fundamentals. Some of the topics covered include addition & subtraction, multiplication & division, fractions, rounding, prime numbers, geometry (2D and 3D), lines, and even simple algebra. It's a great book if you don't have strong math skills but want to help your child, or if you just need another way to explain math to your child in a way they can understand. This is not a math work book for your child to do problems, but more of a reference guide. It's geared for kids ages 7-11 (according to the cover). The book also shows clearly, how to line up your numbers when adding so that the values are in the correct position.

This is an Excellent book! I’m so glad I don’t have to you tube everything anymore. It’s direct and straight forward. It walks you through every step. The steps have also been simplified to provide the easiest process to solving the problem. My kids understand exactly where they may have gone wrong when practicing math and they can correct their mistake with this book on their own. I’ve bought “help” books before but this one is my favorite by far. Thank you to the authors and publishers - it’s a life saver.
