It provides confidence as it really feels rugged, safe. I hadn't realized that the ShockWave provides a plastic cover for the iPad face, which is a pleasant surprise. I have to press just a bit firmer on the characters on account of that extra plastic, but I don't really find that objectionable as the safe package makes up for it. One thing, however. Carrying it around feels that the unit is too exposed, and I would prefer to have it covered, like one of those office folders of yesteryear. The ad for this unit says that a folder is optional, but I couldn't find a way to order it, I just couldn't. The case is functional, but it feels poorly made. None of the parts really feel like they mate together well, and the entire silicone shell has this very apparent seam that wraps around the entire case. The kickstand also feels just as flimsy, if not more flimsy than others. It’s on an iPad that is regularly used by 9lb Yorkie to watch videos of squirrels and birds. She sometimes gets very rough with the iPad. So far no damage to the iPad inside.
