They are thick enough to protect the lens and glass on the back. However... there were no written installation tips or instructions. When I went to lay the rectangular glass cover over the screen, it immediately sucked down to a tilted position. I couldn't push it up or down as the video shows. I placed a thin layer of plastic under the edge to pry it up, and now that corner will not seal anymore. The lens cover does not adhere well at all. Pops off easily.
