I have never had to rely on its waterproof ability really but when it comes down to it I’m sure it would keep things dry. I haven’t used other dry bags before but this one seems to be pretty heavy and stiff. So it adds quite a bit of weight and does not bend or conform to the rest of the pack so it takes up a bit more space than it really needs to.
