The chasen unfurled nicely and fits well in the holder, which I place on top of a small dish to keep my counter dry. The chasen ships in a very study plastic container.

**Q: Hi. Where is this made? Where are the materials from?**
A: I don't know.  I discarded the container and it's source information.

**Q: Where is the whisk made?**
A: There is no indication, but I assume Japan, or China. It's made from a single piece of bamboo. I like it and use it daily.

**Q: Where is this set made?**
A: Good question!  Unfortunately, it doesn’t indicate on any of the items.  Not sure if it did on the label when I first received the set but I no longer have it-sorry!

**Q: Does the vase have a high gloss finish (smooth like glass or a mirror), or a glossy matte (glossy but some texture)?**
A: The whisk holder is high gloss china.

I like that this is a nice all in one set. The spoon is a bit superfluous. I haven't found a use for it in my matcha making, but its cute nonetheless. I've seen some reviews that the middle uncurled, that's normal. Don't let that deter you.
