I tried at Home Depot to mount an 1 1/8 Hex Notch with Hex head (Bosch, Milwaukee, etc) and no way. Hex size is same. But on this the Hex must be parallel to Notch. Bosch, etc Hex corners are 90 degrees to Notch and anyway it's Hex head will not enter the rounded top. **Q: One reviewer stated this item was 5o lbs but the product description says 35 lbs, which is correct?** A: Description here on Amazon says 1/100th of an ounce, so that must be on an asteroid. Actually a bit over 35 pounds. 'Real' jackhammers weigh about 60#, so this is pretty light. **Q: does it last ?? is the life of the tools good??** A: I purchased it in March 2015. I used it to dig a sump to install a sump pump, as well as dig a french drain, and several drainage ditches in clay soil. It gave out about a year or 2 later while breaking up a concrete pad an above-ground pool used to sit on. It was always oiled, and after disassembling it, I guess that a part was being worn down as it spun, but I dunno much about electric motors. It just looked worn down in parts, so that's what I think happened. All in all, the tool costs about as much as a day-and-a-half rental, which I got much more than that. So now, 3 years from the first purchase, I'm ordering it again. I expect to get plenty more than a day and a half out of it, but it won't last forever. I'm happy enough with it to do it again. **Q: Tool weight=35lb, compared to 70lb for a similar tool with less amperage. Does this result in more handle vibration and less impact force at chisel?** A: More amps or watts usually bigger motor. Bigger motor means bigger hammer. Every tool has its place depends on the task at hand. On day one I rented a big Makita jack hammer. Working and controlling that 80 lbs tool at below ground level proved to be challenging, with the biggest problem being the Makita's bits kept repeatably getting stuck, which required a lot of strength or removing the bit to get it freed up. One day's rental cost in my area was about $140. I bought this compact jack hammer based on the good reviews and I could,not be happier. For what we are doing, it is a much better tool. It is easier to control, does not get stuck as much and when it does, it is much easier to get it free. We are able to break the concrete faster with it. Mind you, we are working below ground level. The concrete starts about a foot deep and goes down about a foot or so. I also used it to break up part of a calichie (crushed limestone) RV pad. We had done this previously with a pick axe and a 6' impact bar and it was a nightmare. That compacted limestone was almost as hard a concrete. With this jack hammer, in 15 minutes I did what would take 2 or 3 hours of very hard work. I read that some people complain about oil leaks. Yes, there is some oil coming out where the bit is mounted and the top portion of the bit will be coated with oil. No big deal. Grab a paper towel and wipe the bit off once you are finished and have removed it. The case the tool comes with is nice too. The gloves are cheap but useable. The gogles are almost a throw away item, but if you don't have eye protection, they will work in a pinch. So far the tool has about 20 hours of use on it and has already more than paid for itself. Don't forget to fill it with oil before you start using it and check oil level each day you are ready to use it. November 16th 2023 update - still going strong. This tool has seen lots of use over the last 10 weeks and still working great. We always check the oil level before use. For the work that we use it for it is much better then a full size jackhammer.
