I've bought 4 or 5 of these so I'd always have one fresh when someone came by. I also use it every day... it's just my husband and me and we use place mats. We don't even have grandchildren. It's NOT Stain Resistant. After the first time I washed it, it seemed as though it had more stains than when I put it in the washer. We had lobster, so I thought there was a lot of butter being splashed around. I put a new tablecloth on, and washed it after use (no lobsters this time). I pre-treated stains and it came out complete with stains. With the third new tablecloth, many stains after washing AND there were pulls in the fabric.
