It works great for its price
I have used it on my own 3 cats and it works great and I have used it on street cats too and it shows me their microchip numbers if they have a chip. I highly recommend it. The price is also very very low for a good chip reader.

others have noted that this doesn't work well, works OK for me, biggest problem is probably the migration of the chip Once you find it it picks it up no worries

Easy to use but only used twice and now it won’t recharge after trying multiple chargers

Would be better with a longer display time
Feels quite flimsy but is accurate. The display should last longer before automatically shutting off because it can be difficult to record such a long number in the time given. Can’t fault the price though

Cheap but useful
Basic, thin plastic and cheap but works well and is reliable. I’m not sure how long it will last overall but it seems to have a fairly good battery life. This has been perfect for scanning my foster kittens and making sure I have the correct details before they move on to their forever homes.

Faulty Scanner
Please do not buy this item, the scanner cannot be charged at all. Tried using latops, pc and power socket with original and other USBc to no avail. Typical chinese switch and bait tactic.

Works Great & Inexpensive
I ordered this scanner in hopes of reuniting a lost kitty with his owner. His behavior was that of an indoor cat. I scanned the kitty, the tag # came up immediately. I found a registry, entered the tag and the cat was registered. I submitted my info and a few hours later the owner contacted me. I was able to help the kitty get home the same day. I highly recommend this scanner. I am not with a rescue and this is the first time I tried this, but the scanner worked. I also tried on my cats that do not have a tags and it said no tag. It works as expected and right out the box before charging. It is lightweight. I don't know if you can save the tag # but I took a picture of it. It does have a beep when you press the button to scan, but you can turn it on before approaching the cat (or dog).
