How do you open this up without damaging the shell?

To open my old fob, I had to cut it open with a razor blade. Because the battery is rechargeable, the fob is not designed with a hatch that pops open like the fob that come with non-rechargeable batteries.

Can I insert my old cut key into the new shell and skip having a new key cut?

I assume the product is only the shell case, without the internal electronics. On that assumption it appears that it will fit. In other words, you can remove the internal electronics from your present Fob and insert them in the new case.
