Review: Good strong rigid wire - This is #9 wire. Of course it's not easy to "tie in a knot". If you want to tie knots get some 16 or 19 gauge. This is made to be beefy and have strength. It is supposed to be very rigid. It is easy to cut with a pair of 10 inch linemans pliers, but you are not going to cut it with dinky little household pliers. I use it formed and clipped around the doors of why rabbit cages. Why? It give the cage doors rigidity and spring back if a raccoon were to try to bend the cage door open. It's rigidity and strength is why you should buy it, not for artsy knot tying type of stuff. Don't expect this to bend easily for wire wrapping either. It's not flimsy like that. Use it for when you need strength. Garden hoops, Fence braces, things of that nature.
Review: Great hobby wire, not magnet wire, not toxic - This is great hobby wire. I tried it out as magnet wire and it didn't cut it. It does conduct electricity but it's not insulated with the invisible epoxy (or lacquer) coating of magnet wire. And in response to the reviewer who gave this a low rating with the irrelevant comment falsely accusing copper of being toxic: Copper is not a toxic substance. That false information wrongfully scares people and incites panic. It should be removed. Copper is one of the safest substances known to humankind. Copper is far less toxic than iron. And our ability to breathe air depends on iron. For crying out loud! People can safely handle copper all day everyday without any concern whatsoever. Sucking on pennies before 1982 was much safer when they were made of copper instead of zinc. Now, swallowing a penny is a medical emergency. When pennies were copper, you could just wait for the penny to be "passed". (By the way the problem is that zinc is dissolved too quickly by the hydrochloric acid in our stomachs. You want toxic! There is nothing as toxic as hydrochloric acid. And every healthy human is carrying around a container of it all day everyday. OSHA should fine the entire population!) There is no evidence whatsoever that copper is absorbed through the skin through ordinary handling of products such as copper wire. Where is this nonsense coming from? Copper is absolutely not toxic. Pine trees and sunshine are far, far more toxic than copper -- really. Contrary to being toxic, copper is an essential micronutrient required for human health. Every multi-vitamin pill contains copper. The effects of copper on human health, animal health and the environment are fully understood. Copper is one of the good guys. No warning necessary. There is no OSHA guideline for the general population on copper unlike say, zinc. Copper, like any element is only a problem in crazy, hyper excessive amounts that do not occur with people not in the businesses that mine, process, heat, cut, sand, polish, etc. copper. People who work in flour mills develop more respiratory ailments from breathing wheat dust than copper miners breathing copper dust. Everything in excess is "toxic". Everything exposed over a prolonged period in an unusual manner such as breathing in flour in a mill or the .001% UV radiation that gets through 100% UV-blocking cockpit glass on airliners and gives some pilots skin cancer after 30 years of exposure (it really happens) is a problem. Everything can cause some people to have allergies, cause certain reactions and certain syndromes. Some people are allergic to pure air and pure water. All of these things are at the fringes of the spectrum. It is no more justified going around telling people "copper is toxic, be careful" than it is to say "distilled water is toxic, be careful". Think I'm being facetious? Google the studies of distilled water causing cancer on the skin of lab rats. Turns out, if you irritate skin of any animal with pure water long enough you are going to cause cancer. So should we call distilled water carcinogenic? Please! Life is not risk free and never will be. Copper is as safe as any stuff gets. Get the copper wire, make your project and increase your lifespan a little which is what really happens when you inject endorphins into your bloodstream when you feel that sense of satisfaction from creating something -- a uniquely human adaptation that started sometime after emerging from the stone age into the BRONZE AGE (bronze is mostly copper).

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Thickness/diameter/guage, please?**
A: I measured it at ~1.1mm diameter with some very cheap calipers.

It seems ever so slightly thinner then some 0.05" weed wacker line I have.

**Q: Can you use this to make homemade jewelry? Can you put beads on it? Will it be easy to tie? Thanks. I'm using my dad's account and I need to know.**
A: Well, you could definitely put beads on it, it's thin enough, however, it is also quite strong (I hung a large, solid wood welcome sign on my front door with it). So it's less pliable than it looks. I did tie knots in it, but they are visible ... you can't make them really small, at least I couldn't. But I don't have a lot of strength in my hands, so perhaps you would fare better.

**Q: I want to cut this into small straight strands for a craft. Will this hold a stiff stright line like wire?**
A: No, this isn't as pliable as wire. It is strong, but if you were needing it to be super straight, I wouldn't recommend it.

**Q: Can this be used on stage, attached to props and then pulled to make it seem like the objects are moving on their own? Or would it be seen?**
A: That's more of a question of the closeness of the audience to the stage and the lighting utilized. In addition, it depends on the weight of the prop as that will determine whether you need to double up the string. It is also slippery, which may not make it ideal for your purposes if the prop is large and unwieldy.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exactly what I needed!
*by S***D on April 18, 2026*

I ran short on some 9ga galv trellis wire for my grape vines. I only needed approx 50’ so this worked out great because I didn’t have any left over to store. The product was exactly as advertised and worked perfectly for what I needed.
