**Q: Oops. misstated the question. what is the minimum width of strap you can turn with this bodkin? can it make a 1/4” wide tube? 1/2”? 1”?**
A: According to the package, it will take elastic 5/8" or wider and needs a casing opening to be 3/4" or wider. Sorry for the delay answering we were on the road to a show.

A: You just have to keep feeding it through till you reach the end and trurn as you go.  It can turn any length as long as you are careful not to pull the material out of the teeth.

**Q: Can this turn a 1/2” tube?**
A: Yes

    Great bodkin

After having used a safety pin as a bodkin for many years, I finally decided to get myself a real bodkin to see if it works better than the safety pin. Yes it does! The bodkin's clamp is very strong and doesn't let the elastic slip out half way through the job. It glides smoothly through the casing and because it's longer than the safety pin, it can thread elastic through the waistline casing in about half the time .

If you work with elastic, string, or anything that needs to go through a tube, get this!!! It's made my projects go more smoothly.After seeing some YouTube videos about this but couldn't find it locally I turned to good ol' Amazon.It said it would take about a month to get to me as it shipped from the UK at the time of purchasing but it only took about a week. Great service and so glad I bought it.
