I was a little hesitant because when I received it, the box had a hole in it despite the FRAGILE stickers all over it. I do think a little more bubble wrap inside the box would have been in order. However, the CD player works as well as the radio. Both sound awesome. The digital face also lights up well and the remote control works good as well. Its clean and blemish free. Is the radio reception enhanced?** A: Fm reception is better then any other receiver in the house. I bought the external antenna and did not need it. There one station where I live that is hard to pick up and the Bose is crystal clear. **Q: is it worth the price?** A: No, it is not. Bose sent me an open box, and I have been trying without success to request a return. They will not respond. Amazon won't help, either. The alarm is unreliable. I overslept twice. I set the CD player to sleep after 90 minute. I wake up several hours later and it never shut off. If the music is on low, it sounds muffled. It only sounds good on high. Not worth $500.00. Especially when you can't return it!
