DEWALT DWA4242 Diamond Flush Cut Oscillating Blade

For me, this just became the hands down, perfect blade for cutting through cementitious plaster walls. I have a 1939 built house that I am rewiring, and finally got sick of using a sawzall to open up the walls to run wire. A sawzall ended up doing more damage as I cut through one side of each lath, and then started cutting on the opposite side of each lath, and the vibrations ended up ripping out more plaster than I intended. I burned up 3 bimetal blades on my Multi-tool, and didn't even get one opening cut, before deciding to give this Diamond blade a try. For $10 it was worth a try. I have a really high cement and fine aggregate makeup to my plaster walls with no wire reinforcing, and this blade is perfect for my application. Clean, easy cuts through the plaster, then I have to switch out to the wood blades to get through the lath, but it became an infinitely easier job with better results. I cut (6) 12"x12" openings initially (so 24 lf of cement plaster) and I cannot tell any sign of wear. That alone is worth the $10 per blade.

I recently installed 900sq. ft. Of Nucore performance lvp flooring. I used this oscillating tool blade to make cutouts around door jambs and cabinets. This thing held up incredibly. Diamond grit has barely worn at all, and I’ve made at least 100 ft of cuts. Downsides: plunge cuts were hard to make without the blade chattering a bunch, chrome finish peeled on the part but that doesn’t really affect its performance.

This works with Ridgid tools and works really well. However, it does not last if you have lots of grout to remove and will heat up quickly causing it to chip or break. So be sure to order extra. Mine handled about 12 inches of a 1/16th wide grout line. Mine also broke at the head but can still function (see photo). It does work between 1/16th inch gaps and will also cut tile at a slow pace. Obviously you need to use caution when using anything that has a blade moving at high speeds, but be careful especially in tight corners and tiles being close together. This should be the tool that handles the work in the open while a manual hand grout removal tool should be for corners and corner joints.

I work just fine no problem

Bought this for use on stucco. I’ve used synthetic diamond grit blades in jigsaws and hole saws on stucco and I’ve never had any problem, so I didn’t think this would be a problem. The blade dulled in the first 6 inches or so of cutting through a stucco exterior wall. I have no idea if it’s the quality of the blade or if it’s just simply not designed for this application. I don’t think it is, but like I said, diamond grit has always proven to be a workhorse for me before on other tools. The rest of the blade held up fine, so no real complaints there. I ended up using a carbide tipped blade on my oscillating tool and it cut through several holes in no time before needing to be replaced. Lesson learned I guess.

I bought this bit to clean thin set out of tile joints and what ever else I need it for. Strong, durable and low dust. Can’t beat the price 👍👍

This is a bad product, it fits very loose and just falls off, initially I thought that perhaps I ordered the wrong size but that is not the case, this is a bad design. but it if you want to waste your money but I don't recommend it.

The blade worked very well when recutting a granite top. No visible wear from the cuts made, and the quality of the cut was quite good. Not very aggressive when cutting. Considerably less expensive than other blades, was exactly what I needed. Just a note that it will not work with new Fein or Bosch starlock oscillating tools.

Given the reviews I saw, I expected this blade to be badly worn halfway through my ceiling repair, as I was going to be cutting a good 16 feet of plaster. But I didn't have time to buy more blades, so I just religiously dipped the blade in water every few minutes, and tried to be firm but gentle with the pressure. And guess what? The grit felt the same at the end of the job as it did at the beginning! And let me tell you, I was going at it for hours, it was that thick. I don't know about value, but it was tough enough to save my project, so I figure that's worth 5 stars.
