So far my daughter has not yet read the sequels, but I have. I loved the first three! They were fun to read, hard to put down, and tickle the imagination. The character development is very good, and the setting is well painted. The fourth book of the series, is actually a prequel. I'm having a hard time getting into it as much, I'm only half through that one though. The characters in the books are around 12, and books 1-3 are appropriate for younger kids (mine are 7 & 9), the 4th one is a tad more questionable in that department. Not inappropriate necessarily, just harder to relate with. Review: Young reader approved! - My daughter’s favorite Christmas gift! She read the first one and had been dying to get her hands on the rest of the series. She loves the dynamic between the two main characters and the quick paced plot keeps her engaged. My daughter hates chapter books, so you know it must be good!
