Wow, Works right out of the "box"!
Immediate results! I was genuinely surprised at how effectively these worked. The minute I took off wearing them, there was almost NO wind noise. What's more, I could easily hear what was happening around me, even with my headphones on. Some people think they look ridiculous. But frankly, I can't see them when I'm wearing them, so who gives a crap? They work! Well worth the money. I should add that they are a little warm, where they sit against my temples. They also don't stay in the right position all the time, so from time to time I need to adjust them. But the benefits are well worth these slight nuisances.

Tinnitus Sufferer….this eased my anxiety
After a particularly windy loud ride, I began searching for something to help ease my anxiety with the LOUNDESS of the wind, and came across a cat-ear recommendation on Reddit. After one ride with these on a windy day, I was pleased. I think a lot of people think that these are going to completely stop the sound, but that is not the case. What it does and what it did for me is as we all know when you’re riding into the wind, that loud sound permeates your ear, almost like a constant thumping sound that makes it hard to hear and also is extremely loud. The cat-ear made it almost feel as if you just had a fan blowing in your face. I tested this by lifting a strap away from my face. Basically it goes from thumping to a simple wind sound. Outside of simply wearing earplugs while on a ride, which I don’t recommend, I think these will work just fine. I actually found myself able to hear my wife and enjoying the ride and that is OK with me.

Yes, wind noise reduction
I got both the Slim and Classic versions to test. Started out with the Slim on one ear only. Knew within 100 feet it worked. I can only guess that those who said it doesn't work tried both ears at once so didn't have an immediate AB test. And if you did it in a noisy environment like a highway or busy street, it is difficult to discern wind noise. Even for those who mount both at once, there is an easy way to tell if they are working, simply point your eyes straight down at the road: you will hear immediate wind noise as the Cat-Ears are now out of the picture. For the same reason, I'd guess that these will not work for triatheletes or time trialers on elbow rests, the Cat-Eyes simply won't be in the wind in front of your ears and cannot trip the wind around your ears. I switched ears just in case, but same story, the ear with the Slim Cat-Eyes had a dramatic reduction in wind noise versus the other side. Next I tried one ear with a Classic, and one ear with a Slim. Identical performance with head forward interestingly enough (virtually no wind on tested day). However when head is turned even only 30 degrees, the Classic still tripped the wind, and the Slim did not. The Classic will worked at even greater head angles. Tested both versions with both ears as well. Same story. So guess which one I sent back? Yup, the Slim. Super benefit for having to wear a helmet - I mostly don't and listen to a lot of wind noise but headed for Australia/New Zealand to go touring where it is the law. Downsides? A bit warm where it touches the temple (ambient temperature was 75 degrees).

The cat's meow!
I picked these up after some consideration, and I was extremely satisfied in how they work. They function like a real cat's wind noise reducing ear fur, and with my head looking straight ahead going downhill at 30 mph, the wind noise is probably reduced upwards to 90%! It's actually amazing! Looking side-to-side against the wind, the fur isn't as effective, maybe only about 20% reduction, but it's still noticable. Plus, I'm mostly looking forward anyway. I'd highly recommend these. Super easy and quick to put on your helmet straps, and it adds a whole new level of safety and awareness. And hey; if it makes you look more catlike; that's a plus in my book!

They look stupid but the work
You have to be a bit precise in placement but they really do work. The wind noise at e-bike speeds was pretty annoying on longer rides. With these it's much more serene again. I really appreciate having them even if they look a bit goofy. It's worth it.

Don't do it.
No noticeable difference in noise.

It helps, but not quite thick enough
Although it does cut down on someone noise, these were the thickest of the three options they sold and they're still not quite thick and fuzzy enough to block out anything but a mild breeze. But that does help

Best Elvis Costume
Recently, I had my dreams of a peaceful bike ride shattered by what felt like a rock concert in my ears. The wind noise was so loud, I had to turn back. My two-wheeled escape, a place of solace, was no more. Enter Cat Ears, my mutton chops, my new sideburns that made me a high viz Elvis impersonator. The moment I put them on, the difference was immediate and tremendous. I had to test it, of course—lifting them away from my ears only to be assaulted by the noise again. It was a true "by golly, they do work!" moment. Just half a mile into the test ride, I was grinning from ear to ear. A mile in, I was almost in tears of joy. And after 30 miles, I had forgotten they were even there—all while hearing cars before the mirrors could see them. Thank you, Cat Ears, for forcing me to throw my self-consciousness out the window and get my peace back. You've truly changed my life, and I'll gladly model for you anytime!

Quite simply one of the best things ever
Wow! What a difference, if you wear hearing aids like me, get these. Just one of the greatest bike things I have ever bought. Wind noise is bad enough with normal ears, with hearings aids it like holding a microphone outside on a windy day all the time you are moving. With the babies it is quiet again, I can talk to my mates while I ride, I hear cars behind me. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Super
Daher hier keine Kaufempfehlung

This exceeded my expectations by far!
I wear hearing aids, both ears, completely in canal. I use Aftershox bone conduction earphones when riding, so I can still hear ambient noise. Unfortunately, I can hear wind noise too, amplified by the hearing aids. Wind noise completely removed the option of listening to music or podcasts while riding. I tried making my own wind noise reduction system using soft foam stuck to my helmet straps, but the results were not great. These Cat-Ears are expensive for a simple fur fabric held on by velcro. But once I put them on, I was in a different world. Don't expect miracles - cycling into a headwind is still noisy. But on an average low-moderate wind day, these reduced wind noise by a lot, maybe 80-90% for me. I can now listen to music and podcasts, and still hear essential sounds around me, such as cars. These are a one-off purchase that should last years, and I highly recommend them

Funktioniert!

I can now hear my podcasts
Only used a few times but definitely seems to help with reducing wind noise. You need to make sure that it fits snugly against your face and the lie of the fur is facing forward (into the wind). The installation instructions aren't really that clear, but you have a 50% chance of getting it right. I tried both ways and it was pretty clear which one was effective. I haven't used it in hot weather yet, but I did notice the longer fur becoming a bit sticky against my face. I had also ordered a pair of the Airstreamz version (which is more dense curled fibres and firmer than the faux fluffy boa material of the classics) though have yet to give them a go. I will probably do so as the weather warms and review them separately.
