Has anyone used this particular HOTAS in Elite Dangerous, and how well does it function?** A: Elite Dangerous is the main reason I bought the x52 pro, Elite does have a config for the x52 pro however it is missing the one or two different buttons. They are easy enough to config and If you want to use the "clutch button" "I" you will need to disable clutch mode in the x52 control panel. The x52 pro it self is amazing for Elite Dangerous, I have had mine for a few months now and haven't had any problems. The HOTAS used in the cockpits are almost exactly the same as this one so if you are using an oculus rift it is quiet immersive. http://youtu.be/JOoiEhOBcT8 for a review on this product that I did awhile back. **Q: Is the base heavy enough to play with it resting on a desk, or does it need to be bolted down?** A: It comes with suction cups, but in my experience it works just fine sitting free on my desk. I put the flight stick on one side of my keyboard and the Throttle on the other side and this works fine for me. The stick also has a very light touch so I don't think you will normally use the force it would take to tip it over. Still that said, the company does provide for a way to mount both stick and throttle next to one other on a plaque or something. I've noticed many people doing that, but have not wanted to do that myself because of the space it would take up. BTW, for the money, this is a GREAT value. There are ton's of configuration options, the programming software is mostly easy to use and I have not found a flight game this would not work with. **Q: Is this available for windows 7 ???** A: It works just fine with Windows 7 **Q: Does the throttle work on it's own, since I'll be using a different stick? Thanks in advance.** A: Yes! Actually the main piece is the throttle part. The stick is cabled to the throttle using a Saitek proprietary cable so you will be ok if using a different stick and have this one as a backup. Another tip: don't use the throttle in a raw wood, if you do this the throttle will hot hold the position when you will use it.
