Most other pads do....have loved the scrub daddy series, but they are expensive..!** A: Sponges do not last forever! You must routinely clean and sanitize sponges or they will get nasty harboring bacteria and stink. Rinse them and wring them out thoroughly each time you use. Put them in the dishwasher to wash and sanitize. And throw out after a couple of months and use a new one. **Q: How do you pronounce the name of this product?** A: Correction to my previous answer. I pronounce it dough-bee **Q: Due to the pad's design, wouldn't food particles get trapped in it?** A: Yes, sometimes it accumulates food particles. That means it's getting the food particles off the dishes.
