The MAX Router Rebooter is a high-capacity (15A) Wi-Fi reset device that automatically monitors and power cycles your router or modem to maintain uninterrupted internet connectivity. Keep Connect will monitor your internet connection through your router and modem and it if cannot reach the internet, it will power cycle your router. No app is required to connect Keep Connect. When you plug it in, just connect to its Wifi (SSID is Keep Connect) and a pop-up will appear allowing you to enter your router's SSID and password. More configuration options are on the configuration page, including the option to enter your phone number and allow Keep Connect to text you after each reset. *Works with 2.4GHz routers. To connect both router and modem use a power strip or similar. ***Newly updated firmware allows scheduling periodic resets to keep your devices fresh and regularly rebooted.

Review: This works as intended. Setup was not very difficult, maybe not entirely self-explanatory how to choose options but defaults are probably fine for most people. I got this a couple of months ahead of a three-week international trip during which I wanted to be able to monitor HVAC at home as well as cameras, so I could try it out before the trip. Of course, I intentionally interrupted the internet by unplugging the cable to see how it works, and it did as expected. I did not lose internet connectivity with my home during that 3 week trip, which probably wouldn't have happened with my crappy and quirky home modem otherwise. In the 5 months I've been using this, it has been called upon to reset the internet connection 7 times. That is seven trips to the basement to cycle the plugs I did not have to do, including any trips I could not have made while I was away on vacation. After each reset and when internet is restored, it emails me telling me that it had done so, with a cumulative count of how many times it has done so (that is where the 7-count comes from). During the times that I was at home when the internet went down, it might have taken 5 to 10 minutes by the time it detected the fault, cycled the power, and then the modems had fully reset themselves. Not a big deal if the main reason is to be able to access remote devices when I am away from home. In my case, I have a U-verse gateway modem, cascaded into an Asus wireless/wired router. The Asus usually fails, but the Keep Connect cycles power to both modems at the same time. Fortunately, it does work when it powers both of them back up simultaneously, and some minutes later internet comes back. I could probably toy with the options to make it detect more quickly and reset sooner, but don't want to bother since the main goal is that it resets when I am not home and so my wife doesn't have to worry that I won't be home to reset it when it goes down each time. I guess it beats paying many times more money just to get a more reliable commercial-grade modem at home, I just use a cheap one and this Keep Connect and my connection is pretty reliable (or reliably resets...).

When something is up with the router, and really it just needs the old reliable unplug replug or reset button pressed, the Keep Connect detects the loss of internet and it kicks in and power cycles, internet is restored and i dont need to go to this remote spot in my home to reboot the router anymore.

**Q: My keep connect worked great the first two times the power went out, but now it dosen't reset itself. How do i fix this?**
A: Re-set and review your settings by holding down the blue button. Maybe change some of the default settings in the advanced section. You could increase the time to “kill” and “wait”, also Increase the number of continuous resets, I put mine at the max 99. I have a unit in two different states and they have worked flawlessly. Good luck

**Q: How does it check for internet connection? Pings can go through, but not http or https requests.**
A: Keep Connect pings the domains that are entered in the setup page. If if can’t ping either domain or perhaps only the DNS lookup of those domains fail, it tries one more time to ping Google’s DNS server IP addresses directly 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4. Your problem sounds like it may be a DNS problem. Latest firmware allows disabling the direct IP address ping and will therefore reset upon DNS lookup failures as well as ping failures. Message us directly if you would like to update your device to the latest firmware (not yet published) and enable this option.

**Q: Does this work and reset the modem after a power outage? I just had a power outage and i waited for the plug to reset the modem, which did not happen.**
A: Yes, Keep Connect will still perform the reset after a power outage. This specific case was discussed via our technical support channel and was quickly resolved by using Keep Connect’s Power-On Delay feature. This specific issue was not typical of most modem/routers and in all cases (except this one) default settings would be sufficient for resetting successfully after a power outage.

**Q: Will it keep retrying on a lengthy outage?**
A: Yes it will. There is a configurable setting called sustained outage retry which defaults to retrying every 6 hours for prolonged outages. By default (also configurable) it will try 3 consecutive times before going into sustained outage mode.
