While I wouldn't depend solely on this bungee net to support a rooftop load; something I would expect no net of this kind to do, I think it's OK for what it is. (Something that would happen naturally when it was stretched anyway.) While the product info does indicate it can withstand up to 200 pounds of weight pushing against it, I'd venture to say that a 100 pound load is a smarter choice, particularly if using it as the only retention device on a vehicle's rooftop. Ideally the plastic hooks would have a flap instead of an open hook, but if there's enough tension on them and they are placed correctly on a rooftop basket or railing of a vehicle, they should still hold just fine. I would trust this cargo net to contain tightly packed or heavier items, but unless it is fully stretched, some smaller items may be able to work themselves out of it. Overall, for rooftop use with a waterproof carrier or in a rooftop basket, net is a good option - even better if used in conjunction with other straps. UPDATE: 5/16/17 I used this on a rear cargo basket - over an Amigo waterproof bag. It fit perfectly on the cargo carrier and stayed secured throughout a 300 mile trip, giving me added peace of mind and security.

I purchased this bungee cord net to reinforce the straps on a Keeper waterproof rooftop cargo bag. While I wouldn't depend solely on this bungee net to support a rooftop load; something I would expect no net of this kind to do, I think it's OK for what it is. I did get mine from the Amazon Warehouse and it was repackaged. I noted no build quality issues other than one point where the bungee ends tie together needed to be tightened. (Something that would happen naturally when it was stretched anyway.) While the product info does indicate it can withstand up to 200 pounds of weight pushing against it, I'd venture to say that a 100 pound load is a smarter choice, particularly if using it as the only retention device on a vehicle's rooftop. I really had my doubts when I got this but this cargo net really held my camping gear in place...I don't have a cargo basket on my SUV and didn't have time to buy one for our trip. This held five tents and 6 sleeping bags on the roof of my SVU. Very sturdy and easy to hook. It looks small but it stretched out enough to hold everything down snug. I got this cargo net to go with a roof rack I ordered. I loaded the roof rack and secured the cargo before my trip across the state. This net was extremely sturdy. Nothing moved, and the hooks worked great with the tubes on the roof rack. We also used it on another larger SUV, and the hooks fit securely to the different hook options. The net comes with a handy storage bag that collapses for compact storage. The extra hooks also came in very handy. I have no complaints about the quality and condition of this cargo net.
