Continuous play would drain the battery after a period, you could leave the charger plugged to keep it playing. Call the seller to clarify l have not tried to continuous play. **Q: can unit be connected via output to an external amp?** A: Don't know. I thought I was buying a tape played that I could listen to in my car. and could not hear any of the discs. And, no, I have perfect hearing.
