Once my archeological expedition located the popup drain, I saw it was buried under inches of dirt. I went to a local hardware store looking for something to raise it up, but there was no solution. A quick search on desertcart showed this pipe extender. The price seemed a little high for such a small piece of plastic, but it was the only solution. Once the pipe extender arrived, I was surprised at the quality and thickness of the plastic. I have no worries about stepping on the popup drain and having this extender break. The wide end fit in the PVC 90 degree elbow and the three to four inch popup drain fit securely. I don't worry my mower will suck it up when mowing (it hasn't so far). My drain is still a little low, but that is not the fault of this drain extender. As I already mentioned, the popup drain was several inches underground. I may remedy this by digging out some of the grass and make it slope to the drain. I really don't want to try and raise the drain any higher. I had a pipe that was stopped flush with the concrete floor. So I needed this fitting to make a connection on the pipe ID. I used PVC cement to secure it in place.
