They last about 18 months for me, wearing them 5 days a week in an office environment. I also take them on a 2-mile walk every day on a paved path near my office. That gives these shoes some decent exercise. They're comfortable, fit well, have good traction, and look nice without being too dressy. Overall, they're quite durable, although the smooth surface of the "leather" does gouge somewhat easily if scuffed on something sharp. Also, I had one pair that got stepped on, and the toe caved in and could never be popped back out fully. I typically wear out the uppers before the soles show much wear. The typical point of failure for me is where the upper meets the sole, right at the ball of the foot, where the shoe flexes the most. Eventually, that area cracks and separates from the rubber sole, and it's time to buy another pair. These supposedly have a "leather upper", but if that's true it's really thin, and backed by fabric. They have a look and feel that lands somewhere between synthetic and real leather. They're a fair step up from a truly synthetic material, but don't compare to a real leather shoe in my opinion.
