This book starts about 10 years after the 'incident' with Red. Grim has still not fully recovered from the 'incident" and is coming to the conclusion that he will never find love again. Sarah, is living with her father, Benji, and constantly moving. Grim has trust issues about his MC and there's still beef with the rival MC, Devils' Reject, lead by Hook.There was so much going on in this story. It was raw, gritty and never boring. There were also some mind-blowing secrets that were revealed at the end that left me shocked! The violence was definitely kicked up a few notches in this book. Some of the things that went down were painful to read. Again, no hearts and flowers here.Since I did not get a sense of romance in this book, I'd say this was all about retribution. This leaned heavy on the gritty/ugly side and less on the romantic side. Be warned! I plan on reading the next installment, "Baby", Grim and Red's daughter. So far, I'm not a fan of Baby's character.Why Not 5 Stars?Same feedback from book #1: Lack of character development. The insta-love with Grim. I did not understand their connection and love. It just seemed to come from out of no where. A really good example, Romeo and LL. There were zero details disclosed about their past relationship. Where is the backstory on their relationship. How did they meet, what were their issues, what happened to separate them? It was strange.Writing Style - I'm still not a fan of it. While this book was much better than Grim, I still found things moved at warped speed without the details. There were such huge jumps in time between events, I had a difficult time keeping up. One paragraph they are in the clubhouse, the next they are in the trailer, without the proper transitions to get them there. This also read like a SoA episode towards the end with the secrets revealed. The secrets were simply stated without any build-up. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rumor *by G*** on Reviewed in the United States on March 11, 2021* This book is about Sarah, Gypsy's daughter and Grim's promise to Gypsy to get her from Hook. It picks up several years after Grim: The Beginning ends and follows the trail he takes to keep his promise. Sarah/Rumor was told horrible stories about Grim and what he would do to her her entire life. But, little do they know that because of the terrible life she's had to live, she prays for the Grim reaper to come get her. Red’s death has so deeply affected Grim that he is no longer the man he used to be, he is hell bent on avenging Red’s death, getting revenge of his own and finding Red’s first daughter who lives with her madman of a father, Benji of the Devil’s Rejects MC.Grim has left his and Red’s daughter, Baby, back in Drag Creek, in the care of and being raised by Slim’s wife, Foxie and with their two boys, Rebel & Striker. Whenever he does come home, he does see Baby, but at 10 years old, she hates him. She wants her father, but since he is always on the road, she continually acts out in school and runs wild at home. Another 3 years pass without success of finding Red’s first daughter, Sarah, and Grim starts to accept the fact that he failed in his endeavor and decides to move back home permanently.His being home is means that Baby moves back in with him, though she refuses to call him dad and when she gets in trouble, she runs to Foxie. She is still wild, but Grim tries to be a father to her, the one that he should have been all along. Being home also means the ability to meet someone and possibly fall in love again.When Grim gets a new lead on Sarah he jumps all over it, hoping to finally fulfill Red’s last wish. Sarah has grown up in seclusion and despair with her dad, his best friend and a shared woman. She grew up being told that one day Grim would come for and he would kill her, and that was why they had to move constantly. Her childhood was so terrible, that she began to wish for the day that Grim would find them and kill her, ending her suffering.But just because he’s able to fulfill Red’s last wish doesn’t mean that their daughters will get along. Baby may act immature, but looking deeper, it’s really the fact that she hasn’t ever had her dad in a parental capacity and she certainly doesn’t want to share him after only having him for a few months.There are some wild and crazy revelations, some that could have been suspected, and that just sets up the drama for the next book.
