great mic, too short of a cable
really good sound capture. although cable length could have been bigger, its too short.

It does the job well.
Very good. Cable's a little fragile and short but its whatever. I wish people would unbox less and go on rants on a microphone. It's makes for a better review and lets everyone make an informed decision. Hence, the first step is mine. That slight clip is my setup problem otherwise mic is flawless. The rant is without any added noice cancellation with some ambient noise. I hope you find it as enjoyable as I have.

Best audio quality with some negative points to consider
Loved the audio quality of this mic, but the wire feels a bit fragile and low quality, and one more thing i noticed is that when the the noise around you increases it suppreses the the whole audio in order to minimize the noise, which as a result reduces the volume of your voice too.. but the audio quality is superb and premium.

Best for motovlog.
I had bought this mic to motovlog with my Gopro Hero 12. Had to buy an adapter for the 3.5 mm jack. The sound quality is very good. Catches the voice over other noises while speaking. I haven't tried it on any other devices like phone or laptop, so no comments on that. If you want to motovlog with this then go for it. Thumps up from my side.

Average Mic to use as audio input
The product is not good for streaming as it captured surrounded noice. No noice cancellation. The quality is good. Connection is good but u might need a 3.5 mm jack port to use it. Wire length is perfect. It's not a value of money as my phone gives the same audit quality. The functionality is good.

Absolutely incredible value proposition!
I never thought I needed a stereo lav until I used this. No, it doesn't have any pronounced "stereo effect" - i.e. the sound stage isn't that wide and obviously it doesn't work like a binaural mic. Why I think it's so brilliant is because of redundancy. You see, it's far more convenient than using 2 mics and since each mic covers about 180° and because they face opposite directions, they offer excellent redundancy still. While you could use different gain for each channel - given you have an appropriate recorder - so as to prevent clipping and increase dynamic range, I just prefer the convenience of, well, not doing that. Even 24bit recorders have more than enough dynamic range for the vast majority of scenarios. The reason I love it so much is because I've found that usually one mic picks up the wind noise far less simply because it faces the opposite direction of the wind. As for the sound quality, it's amazing. I honestly don't see why one might NEED a more expensive lav for anything but high(er) end movies.

Discrete - good sound quality
I ended up buying two of these, to use with the Rode Wireless Go system. It was for a wedding and I wanted something that looked smart that could be worn. Threaded it through the shirt and the transmitter part was in the guy's pocket. SOUND Sound quality was very good indeed and I'm delighted with its performance. Level seems to be good without needing too much gain, keeping noise way down. CABLE Cable is just long enough to go from upper chest, around waist into a pocket without being tight or having much slack. PRACTICALITY I like how the mic can be angled on the crocodile clip. I had the clip horizontally and the mic vertically. This was to align it with the vertical of the subject's shirt, but also I was only broadcasting a single channel and worked out which channel I needed pointing upwards. It stayed attached until I removed it, so very happy. LIMITATIONS Crocodile clips is useful but not for all situations. Given this is going to be worn, a magnetic option would be a great alternative. That would allow mic to easily be placed behind clothing, which was my preference. The little wind muff that sheathes the mic, managed to fall off and I never recovered it. So now without it. Would have been nice if they'd provided a spare, and/or a lighter colour to more closely match certain clothing. VALUE It's lovely to have a Sony branded product to compliment my mostly Sony lineup, and gives a professional appearance, which is important. VERSATILITY At this price point, having a stereo lavalier mic is quite unheard of. My needs was mono, so I had to check which (L or R) was connected to my wireless system (I discovered it was the L channel). USES Cable isn't quite long enough to do selfie shots to camera with it plugged in. It's ideal as a plug-in for radio mic system such as DJI and Rode's offerings. Also using it as a narrative mic while filming with the camera. OVERALL You can pick up some decent mics at rock bottom prices. At this price for a Sony branded mic, my expectations weren't hight (Sony do put their label on some trash at times). I'm no audiophile but the sound is clear and great for speech. It does a good job at picking up ambient noise, although that could be an issue if using it in a noisy environment (this is where you could use the L and R channels effectively; one pointing at the subject, the other sucking up atmosphere). For under £30 I would recommend adding this to your kit. If using with a wireless system with mono input, work out which channel is live (L in my case). Or add a splitter and pump out two transmitters giving stereo feed.
