This is an excellent book with cases studies highlighting various machinery problems. Most of these were studied with vibration analyzers that were popular during the period 1980-2000. Author has taken pains to present the material in a structured way. A case study on the Static Couple balancing helps to achieve results without help of sophisticated two plane balancing software. The analysis part of each case study opens up knowledge windows to a beginner in vibration analysis as well as to a seasoned analyst. I was also using the IRD make analyzers along with Strobe light during 1987-95. The quality of the book is excellent in terms of both print and paper. Rs.500 price for the wealth of information provided is an irresistible offer. Its just the cost of a couple of Pizzas. My sincere thanks to the author Sri. Author has explained more of practical case studies with problem solving techniques. 2. Balancing techniques are explained to understand easily by using 1X Displacement and phase. (particularly Vertical motor balancing, PA and FD fans balancing) 3. Bearing failure symptoms, relevant ISO standards, electrical problems in HT motors are explained with the practical cases. 4.
