The instructions on the back of the bottle say never to use it on silk, acetate (which it did mess up for me), and leather, carpeting or upholstery. Of course, oxyclean is the same way for silk. To me, dry cleaning, thelaundress online, or handwashing with Ivory Snow or Fels Naptha (which still may rinse off the sizing coating) is about the best for silk. I may as well have splashed water on the stain for all the good this did. And you have to use it undiluted (according to the instructions) so I had to use the whole bottle on one stain.
