Review: I was going to go for the old mechanical version I knew as a kid growing up, but I'm glad I saved my money and bought this. It is well made and the weight feels solid like a quality made product.
Review: Haven't used it on the ice for hockey yet but tested out the stopwatch and countdown functions as well as shutting off the beeps. Everything worked as expected. As mentioned in other reviews, the instructions are not detailed so you'll need to figure some things out through trial and error. A couple of things I didn't know or read in reviews are: 1. The countdown functions still beeps at the end of the time even with the beeps turned off. I'm happy with this because that's how I want it to work. When the beeps are turned off, an icon of a bell with a line through it is displayed. See photo. 2. The whistle is very basic with a pea. 3. The metal watch has a nice weight in your hands. 75g or 2.6oz. 4. There are 3 large buttons on top (lap/reset, recall, and start/stop) and one small button on the side (mode). The large buttons feel a bit loose and a bit "cheap". Seem to work fine though. 5. There is no power off function. It turns off on its own after 10 minutes of no activity. 6. The packaging is really (too) fancy. Box is lined with silky fabric, has a magnetic closure and covered in a paper sleeve. See photos. I'd take a simpler package for a lower price personally. Overall, seems like a solid product.

A: You would have to reset the countdown, or simply count up to 20 and 10 seconds.

A: It is a watch battery.  Besides that I don't know.

**Q: Can you Shut off the beep sound**
A: The automatic beeping it does on the hour and half-hour?

Yes!  Go to clock-mode by turning it on (holding the center button for 3 seconds); push the center button 3 times; at that place, push the right button once, and "on" should disappear.  That's how you know that it's off.
