It is matte but the it has 10% spandex that makes it kinda shiny. It’s mainly the flash of the camera making the spandex more pronounced

Does this pair of leggings pill after washing?

No it doesn't. Most shapewear is best kept in perfect quality if hand-washed and line-dried, but you can machine wash cold, soft cycle and then line-dry. No dryers!

So i wear a large in yoga pants would this be the same size?

I wear an XXL in clothing and the XXL fit snuggly but perfectly. These pants are great for shaping and they stayed up even after a large lunch.
