If you wait until you’re under attack by flies, it won’t be as effective (we also used it at the end of last summer and the result wasn’t as good as being proactive / starting early. It still helped but this year has been much better. My horses still wear fly boots, but we only put fly masks on when they are outside and the flies are going to find them anyway. The flies in the horse barn were intolerable last year and that’s not the case at all this year. The horses get a few flies but nothing major. The product is outstanding. I highly recommend this product. It has helped reduce our fly population so nicely and the price isn’t crazy. You honestly save money by purchasing this instead of using five other fly repellents to get to a lesser result. My two horses love the flavor and have no issues with this supplement.
