What’s the difference between the fox 40 classic and the fox 40 CMG whistle ?

CMG model comes with a rubber piece around the part of the whistle that you rest your lips, or teeth; the standard is just plastic. May be a little late of an answer for you, but it may help someone else.

No it’s not. This one is bulkier.

When i blow the whistle, it's not that loud. am i doing something wrong? do i not know how to blow a whistle?

All I can tell you is that I use it while directing traffic and position it in the middle of my mouth because if it is off to a side and I blow it, that same side ear hurts! Is there something possibly stuck inside that is restricting air flow? I have used this model whistle for the last 12-15 years because it is simply the loudest I have found.
