Using a small utility knife, carefully trim away a thin coating of plastic at the metal connector end of the cable that plugs into the camera, It is a very thin extension of the plastic housing at the end of the cable and the underside of it is the thick metal connector itself. You won't cut the cable itself by doing this. You need to cut through the 4 plastic sides of the excess plastic. It should come off easily after your cut those 4 sides.
