Review: Excellent video card! - I bought the RX 470 GAMING X 8GB and it is an excellent video card for the money. If you can afford a bit more then go for the 480 but if you can't then you will have no regrets with this one and the 8GB version will make it much more future proof. When I first installed this I was getting LOTS of blue screens and crashes. After reading up about it and posting on some forums I found a few things that helped: 1: Completely uninstall old drivers using Display Driver Uninstaller which can be found on the 3DGuru website. This does a much more through job of removing the old drivers, registry entries and misc. files than the default ATI installer does which makes a big difference. 2: If you are getting crashes when using Chrome then disable "Use hardware acceleration when available" under the settings. After doing the above my computer has been running problem free.

**Q: Why is this $329 when all the other rx480's are $250**
A: Because of price gouging.  These sellers buy out all the stock from Amazon themselves, and then add 100 dollars to the price.  The MSRP is 199 (4GB), and 239 (8GB).  Don't get fooled into thinking you have to buy because of urgency.  Wait till Amazon have them in stock.  Even better... wait for the better cooled versions rather than the reference that will be around the same price as the reference.

**Q: Can this run roblox at 60 fps?**
A: oh boy it will run roblox at 1000 fps but roblox will not allow anything above 60 so yeah it 1000% will

**Q: Is it safe to assume that this be compatible with the msi 970 gaming motherboard?**
A: Yes.  I actually have that setting.Check the pcparts website so you can run your build for compatibility issues.

**Q: What type of motherboard is recommended. i have a rosewill srm 01 as my case ?**
A: You need a PCI-E Slot and ideally a 16x slot (PCI-E 3.0). If you have an older motherboard, you probably can still slot it into that, but I would be careful and double check. I have mine in an older board as a holdover until I finish gathering the rest of the parts for a new build and it works alright for now. Regarding your case and how well it will fit, the short answer is: I don't know, you will have to do some measurements. The card description says its dimensions are 6.8" long by 4.6" wide  (i.e. tall) so, you'll have to see if you have clearance for it inside the case. It will probably fit, but it will depend on where the motherboard sits and where the PCI-E slot is.

I bought the RX 470 GAMING X 8GB and it is an excellent video card for the money. If you can afford a bit more then go for the 480 but if you can't then you will have no regrets with this one and the 8GB version will make it much more future proof. Great gpu especially once you've updated the drivers. I set it up and was getting 30 degrees C stock cooling and fans but I'm probably going to adjust the fans so they spin before the before 60 degrees C. I played Skyrim SE at ultra lightly modded so far and looks beautiful over 60+fps on my budget i3 skylake build. Still need to put this gpu under a heavy load and truly see its worth. Update: I stand by what I previously said and definitely recommend downloading ReLive after installation. Over a month now and still performing like the 1st day. Ran multiple games like TW3, DS3, and Dragons Dogma and it's running high/ultra roughly 60 fps. Going to be looking to upgrade my processor to an i5 65/6600 to get the most out of my 470 8gb G x gaming wise.
