The 4-star rating doesn't reflect any deprecation of the product -- I just prefer to reserve the term "love" for sentient beings.The flakes are entirely fresh (I keep them frozen for storage so they'll stay that way). They are soaked and used in rye breads to provide chew. I was actually hoping that they'd provide more chew, but this isn't the fault of the milling style or the product -- I think I just need to use rye chops or cooked or sprouted rye berries for the bread texture I'm trying to achieve.

These rye flakes are EXACTLY what I wanted.  Nutritional, tasty, and....well, exactly what I wanted.  I could not locate any [even in small packages] anywhere near where I live.  Great service, great product!
