It's the perfect tool when you're installing a new cartridge and you want to check that your tonearm and cartridge are both perfectly level to the record surface. I had hoped the protractor would be of some use but it's basically useless. Anyone doing an install should get an arc protractor for this. Also, the hole for the spindle was too small and it got stuck. I ended up having to break the thing to get it off!
