Some vehicles use R-1234YF and it will not work for those vehicles. As far as I know the civic has never used R-1234YF and has always used R-134A so it will work, but there are some Hondas that do like the Jazz ect. I would recommend double checking that it is R-134A before purchasing... R134A yes--- R1234YF no--- simple answer **Q: Do you have a self seal can tap where the shaft is half the diameter and 3mm longer? I had to mod mine** A: The simple selection process for a r134a can our can taps work on is if you can go to a store and buy it, our can tap works on that can. If you can only find the brand for sale online, our can tap will probably work for that, but we can't guarantee that because there is no possible way for us to build a can tap that works on all the random sizes these no-name manufactures are using for their cans. I personally went to Wal-Mart, O'rileys, AutoZone, Advanced Auto Parts and Napa and tested it on every R134a can they had and it works without issue. Also when we have had a customer complain that it didn't work, we ask them what brand and it is always a brand that does not sell direct to consumer.
