**Q: How many inches is the first step from the ground and from first to second step? I’m an old fart with hip and knee issues.**
A: The Little Giant Safety Step #10210BA distance from the ground to the 1st step is 8.5 inches. And 8.5" to the 2nd step. A very solid step ladder for us 'old farts'!

**Q: Can the steps be folded, with the handle remaining upright?  Easier to carry and store.**
