I was looking for a battery cut off switch for my trailer that would be accessible on the outside of my battery box. I didn't want the style that had a removable key, and I wanted one that would be durable. I also didn't want to spend a small fortune on it. This one fit the ticket. It was a little larger than I thought it would be, and I had to change the side of my battery box that I had originally planned on having it attached. It protrudes inside the box by several inches, and it would have hit my battery. I like this switch. It has a nice solid construction, metal instead of plastic. There is a definitive "click" when you switch it on. Now I don't have any parasitic drain on the batteries while in storage, and I can turn off the power even if my battery box is locked. The threaded shank of the switch is flat on two sides so you can get a wrench on it. I decided to drill the hole for it slightly smaller than the shank and then use a file to shape the opening to match the shank. This way when you tighten the nuts down, the switch won't rotate in the opening. I used a dab of RTV silicone behind the outside plate to prevent water getting in the box. I have had this setup for a year now and have had no problems with the switch, or water getting in the box.

As in the title, this is sturdily built and works reliably. I think it should have come with a mounting plate for the high price.

I'm glad I ordered the kit that included heat shrink, ring terminals, and the rubber boots. I am using this switch as a power shutoff for the winch on the front of my truck (some of the other reviewers mentioned they are using it this way as well). I installed it today and cycled it about a dozen times while actuating the winch to make sure it works. Hopefully it will hold up and keep working for a long time. If I haven't updated this review from 5 Stars to less, than you can assume that mine is still working as it is supposed to.

Very nicely machined and the anodizing seems top notch. It has a nice silicone strip on one side to grip the switch well and you can reverse the mount 90 degrees if needed. Seems expensive but not when it's in your hands. It's a quality product.
