They were wider than I expected which is a bonus as they're going by a fence in a border to stop next doors dogs trying to attack my small dogs. They don't come with drainage holes but easily done with a hot rounded screwdriver. I would reccomend these to any gardener and cheaper than buying them single at £5.99 in shops. I will be back to buy more once the other side of my garden is completed. UPDATE I was so impressed with these troughs that I've bought a further two sets. Planting 3 I used well into the 2nd bag of 50 litres. **Q: Can anyone tell me how to use these as self watering planters? The is no obvious reservoir for holding water and no wicking system** A: They have stands in their base and you should drill a hole in the middle of each which then will allow water to be retained up to about an inch or so deep. If this is not correct then your guess is as good as mine. **Q: Are thes Matt or Gloss?** A: The pots are matt black.
