There are clamps for the bars to hold them in place, and there are also wheels with locks, so it's easy to roll the stand out when putting your computer case on it (or taking it off), and then rolling it back (and locking it) where it goes. The wheels also keep the case a couple inches off the floor. Despite the plastic, the stand feels pretty sturdy, and it's not having any problems with my computer case.
