It does a much better job of keeping the vehicle cooler compared to the accordion style where each fold acts like a chimney for the heat to come directly into the cabin area. I will say that it doesn't fold up nicely, it's more of a pretty large roll. But my passenger side is just storage, so it's not a big deal at all and definitely not dropping a star for my use. On the other hand, the side window shades do NOT snap nicely into place, nor do they stay in place easily, especially on the door that you close once you've got them into place. I haven't once been able to manage that maneuver.
