Morrisons Smooth Peanut Butter, 700g

This is a straightforward supermarket smooth peanut butter that sits in the everyday staple category, focusing more on affordability and versatility than premium taste or texture. The texture is quite thick and dense straight from the jar, which means it holds well on a spoon and spreads easily once it warms slightly on toast. It is noticeably smoother than crunchy versions, with no texture or nut pieces, giving it a uniform consistency throughout. It does firm up a bit when stored in a cooler cupboard, so it benefits from a quick stir if it has been sitting for a while. Flavour wise, it is fairly standard roasted peanut flavour with a mild sweetness and a light saltiness. It is not overly rich or oily, and it sits more on the neutral side compared to higher end natural peanut butters. It does the job well on toast, but also blends easily into porridge, smoothies, and baking where you want peanut flavour without too much intensity. I have mainly used it on toast and in porridge, and it performs best in simple uses where you want a consistent spread rather than something that stands out. It also works well as a cooking ingredient because it mixes smoothly into sauces without separating too much. From a value for money perspective, the 700g jar feels like a strong point. You are getting a large quantity at a relatively low price compared to branded alternatives, and because it is quite rich, you do not need to use a large amount each time. Compared to more premium peanut butters, it is less intense in flavour, but for everyday use it feels like good value for a household staple. Overall, it is a dependable smooth peanut butter. It is not trying to compete with more natural or high end versions, but it delivers consistency, spreadability, and versatility at a price that makes it practical for regular use.

It might not be the healthiest or best-est peanut butter on the market but it's the one that I've found that is closest to M&S's peanut butter - if you've had it, you'll know what I mean. M&S do these wonderful apple slices with peanut butter dip, it's a very tasty lunch snack, one that I personally adore very much. They also do their own version of peanut butter but it tastes NOTHING like the peanut butter they put with the apple slices, annoyingly. So I shopped around and eventually came upon this, and it tastes very much 1:1, it has that salty but not overpowering hit followed by the smooth taste of peanut butter. Good! It's decent value for money and it's a good sized jar too so it lasts a good while, even having a tablespoon of it a day with lunch, it sticks around for a whole month, sometimes longer. Definitely my favourite peanut butter for the time being, anyway. It microwaves well too - 30 seconds and you've got a runny but thick peanut butter dip, wahey!

This spread is rather nice and offers good value for money; the taste of peanuts is not flawless, but you can feel that decent ingredients were used and no extra sugar was added to it. Overall, a nice mid-range peanut butter.

I like this peanut butter, good texture and not quite as sweet as the brand leader.

Nice flavour

I buy the smooth peanut butter for my dog. She loves it but I find it stiff and very difficult to spread on toast. The dry, stiff consistency is fine for my dog but useless on toast or sandwiches.
