The sheath positively retains the knife and it can be deployed quickly and effortlessly. I wear it on my calf and I've never had a problem. The handle is streamlined and because of it's shape and texture it wont slip or rotate in your hand. I'm very impressed that I've been diving with this knife for 6 years and it has never had one single spot of rust! On the down side, it is so stain resistant because they used 304 stainless steel on the blade, non-heat tempered and very soft. This is acceptable to me because it sharpens nicely and I only use it for emergencies to conserve it's edge. I have had the knife for a couple of years, there is still no rust and the edge has stayed sharp (even though it has gone into the brain cavity of many fish).
