Way better than I expected
I bought this with one thing in mind-- fixing the plastic fairings on my motorcycle. My bike is old and, although it doesn't look like it's ever been laid down, some of the fairings had mounting tabs that had cracked off. Vibration, heat, and years of UV will do that to plastic. I had already fixed one with fiberglass and epoxy but holding it in position until the resin dried was a bit of a pain. I had a couple more tabs to do and coincidentally saw a video of someone using a hot stapler like this one. It didn't take long for me to start searching for an inexpensive one to try out. When I bought it, this was the cheapest hot stapler with decent reviews. It cost $23 and at that price I expected it to help me fix a few fairings and then maybe burst into flames or electrocute me. Well, I haven't been electrocuted or lit on fire (at least not by this tool). In all I sunk maybe a half dozen staples into the fairings, then used epoxy and fiberglass cloth to reinforce the areas wherever I could. Even without the fiberglass, the repairs were pretty strong. After the epoxy dried, the mounting tabs were at least as strong as they were from the factory, probably stronger. I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to use. The price was low but it works fine and doesn't feel cheap. The position and depth of the staples was easy enough to control, which was a relief because the fairings are thin and I was afraid of blowing a staple out through the other side. This tool paid for itself in a single use. The sub-$25 I spent wouldn't even buy a single fairing for my old bike (assuming I could even find any) so I'm dollars ahead already. This is a great entry-level tool if you want to fix a couple of things quickly and inexpensively. It's also a good starter tool if you're on the fence about how useful it will be. It does a good enough job to earn a spot in my toolbox. I'll keep using it until it either breaks or I run out of things to fix.

Awesome Tool! Can't say enough about it
One of the best tools I've ever used. As a "fixer" of broken things, it not only holds plastic together it actually makes it strong. When you consider that the option is to throw it away because it's broken, this is a fairly inexpensive and really useful tool. Also I've found that a sanding tool like a die grinder or Dremel tool cleans up the cut off pokey ends and makes it smooth. Pretty cool idea someone came up with here!

Kit did not come with all the parts pictured
The seller apologized for the misleading item description and corrected it to say that the kit only includes the plastic box, welding gun, staples, and wire cutters. Seller also refunded a fair portion of the purchase price to make the kit I received worth the value I believe it to be with the parts it includes. Buyers need to be aware that the mesh, plastic welding rods and welding foot shown in the photos are not part of the kit. The welding gum works well, and the kit comes with a good selection of different gauge (wire thickness) staples. Even though the kit did not include the plastic welding feet and rods, I was able to accomplish some plastic welding by using hot staples and was able to get the cracks in a plastic radiator sealed down to a dribble. With some plastic welding rods and a welding foot, Iโm sure I can finish the repair well. While I was disappointed in the misleading item description, I gave a 4 star rating based on how well the welder works and how the seller approached making the situation rightโand that the item description note reflects only information about the parts that come with the kit (If like it to clearly state what is not included, but the sellerโs actions exceeded my expectations.

Works GREAT!
I bought this to repair plastic attachment tabs on the interior trim of my sonโs BMW. The trim isnโt available anymore and very hard to find used with hood tabs. This worked great! I had some of the broken pieces and was able to fuse them back together with the straight staples - this was easy to use - heats up in SECONDS and the hold is STRONG! I like that the heat is variable based on how much you pull the trigger - this is helpful with some thinner, softer plastic. I was a bit hesitant to purchase the lower wattage, less expensive version of this tool, but was glad I did! It gets plenty hot enough to do the job. This seems well made, the finish/quality of the tool is good and it โfeelsโ good in your hand - not cheap and flimsy. It performs better than one my buddy paid $90 for. As any other tool, it takes a bit of practice to get the feel of it - I did burn right through a few practice pieces before I got the hang of it; but once I did, it was easy. It also works with the .6mm refill staples that are readily available on Amazon. The .8mm work also, but donโt quite fit as well in the elements. Donโt hesitate to buy this product - it works great.

One of my fav tools
This is one of my fav tools now. Easy to use and has plenty of types of staples to get the job done. I was able to repair the grill on my John Deere with ease. Trying to fix that without the staples did not work at all, but this kit with the staples saved me from buying a new grill. Wish I had this tool when I fixed the hood. I have also used this tool to fix the plastic cover on my pole saw, and a base on a tower fan. Having the ability to use staples feels like a must when it comes to repairing plastic parts. Tool is very easy to use, heats up fast and has enough variety of staples to tackle most repairs. Everything is packaged nice and the tool case is able to hold the tool itself and the staples. Only thing I wish was that the tool box was just a tad bit bigger to allow us to store the plastic welding rods and repair tape that comes with the kit.

This Thing is great!
I didn't know what to expect but was I ever pleased with the utility and quality of this thing. I had a dashboard that was cracked and coming apart. I had no prior experience, watched a few Youtube training videos and just did it. This device sunk a bunch of clips under the service and in a few minutes my dash looked major better and was solid like new. I clipped the upright wires and dremeled off the ridges. one thing I would recommend is, after the clip is embedded to the proper depth, pull the clip back toward you a couple of millimeters to really set it in. bottom line, this unit is worth every dime, you will not be disappointed

Not what they showing in the add
Tool its self is not too bad so far. What I did not like is that they show one think in the add and send you smaller number of staples.

Works well
Works well for what I needed it for. ( fixing a cracked fender on a quad) but if I had my time back I would of got the one that came with the filler to hide the crack.
