Review: Not for California - These came in looking a little sad, in a bubble envelope, but they are supposed to. They started to grow very well once I planted them. I live in southern California though, and as soon as the temps got up in the 90s the leaves burned up. I tried shade cloth and shade umbrella, but it's just too hot, as I suspected but refused to believe (ah, the foolish optimism of a gardener). My sister bought these (same seller, same everything) on the same day as I did, and she is in Michigan and hers still look beautiful. I might have been able to grow these in the winter here, but I think I will just stick with the California varieties in the future. One last note, no matter where you live, earliglow take an additional season to truly bare fruit. You should remove the blossoms the first year of growing and let the plant focus on growth. Then the next year you get a great harvest of berries. In my opinion, earliglow are the best tasting strawberry. I worked on a strawberry farm for 10 years when I lived in Michigan.
Review: Very unsatisfied customer - I planted them the way I was told to follow the instructions to the tea. Everyone 50 of my plants all died. I spoke with representative he so I’m sorry. Maybe if you send me a few pictures I sent him. The pictures never heard another word from them.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Not for California
*by J***. on June 27, 2024*

These came in looking a little sad, in a bubble envelope, but they are supposed to. They started to grow very well once I planted them. I live in southern California though, and as soon as the temps got up in the 90s the leaves burned up. I tried shade cloth and shade umbrella, but it's just too hot, as I suspected but refused to believe (ah, the foolish optimism of a gardener). ### ⭐ Very unsatisfied customer

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The best bareroot berry plants I have ever bought
*by R***M on March 31, 2023*

I purchased Earlygro, Quinault, and Ozark varieties of bareroot berries from these guys several weeks ago. They shipped them promptly and I wrapped the roots in wet paper towels and plastic kitchen wrap for 3 days as instructed. At that time, all slips had only small green buds on the foliage end. I planted them in a mixture of soil from my garden amended with sand and perlite to improve drainage. After a week, all have multiple leaves of green foliage on top and look healthy and ready to set out in the garden. (see photos). I have purchased bareroot berry plants from the guys at Handpicked Nursery 3 times over the past years and all have been extremely successful (98%). Photos show plants 1 week after planting in starter. Far better than the dried out packages of bareroots at the big box (orange and blue) stores, where survival rates were below 50%. My only complaint is that Handpicked should include written instructions with the plants; not everyone likes to look up stuff on the internet!!!!!!
