Unfortunately many modern HP laptops have a very aggressive bios that communicates with their own chargers, and rejects 3rd party chargers or chargers below the specified wattage. As the laptop's BIOS rejects it as a power source, and another reviewer's similar experience with their 200W-adapter OMEN laptop, this adapter likely will not work if your HP laptop's original power adapter has a maximum output greater than 100W.
