Review: Works as expected - Assembling the hat is fairly straightforward. There is a switch to turn off the fan, but I don't think it is loud enough to be much of a bother. Especially since I expect most people would have this near the network switch providing the PoE. Once installed, there is nothing you need to do to configure it further. Just plug in your Ethernet cable, and it starts to boot. The hat does not fit well with the Canakit case I have my pi in. I am not going to deduct a star for this because it is more the fault of the case than anything. If you are looking to add PoE for your pi I would say this is a great way to go. Because I have a thick Pi heatsink, so I have to reverse the fan which comes with this item to the top. So, no more power, just one network cable is all you need. You can still have enough power to access USB's. That's one way to simplify your PI.
