## Description

The Ultimate Collection is a compilation album by Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music, first released in 1988. Unlike the 1986 compilation album Street Life, which was predominantly Roxy Music material, The Ultimate Collection focuses more on Ferry's solo career. It includes the previously unreleased track "He'll Have to Go", which was released as a single by Ferry in 1989, and the track "Help Me" which had only been released as a single in the USA in 1986.

    Reciew for the SACD:There have been so many compilations of Roxy Music and Bryan Ferry you could be forgiven for over looking this recently reissued SACD THINKING "not another one!"  This one is really, really good with a nice cross selection of Ferry and Roxy's hits. It's also well mastered by Rhett Davies co-producer of many later Roxy and Ferry solo albums.What makes this set essential is the inclusion of a previously unissued (except for the CD edition of this album) cover song recorded for "The Bride Stripped Bare", a 1988 remix of "Let's Stick Together" and the song that Ferry wrote (with Nile Rodgers) for the film "The Fly" ("Help Me").The booklet includes the lyrics for each song but there aren't any reissue notes about this compilation.The disc is a dual layered SACD so it can be played on both a CD player and SACD player. The SACD layer is not a multi-channel remix but the original stereo mix. The good news is that it sounds exceptional to my ears.Recommended.

    Loved Roxy Music and even saw them almost 30 years ago.  Must admit I bought this for his version of the IN Crowd!  Over all it is a disc worth having.
