Ack! Can someone confirm for sure? Thanks!** A: The sound is faint. If you have very good hearing, you will be able to hear it ticking. If the TV or AC/heat is on, you won’t be able hear it. **Q: What is the diameter of this clock?** A: Mine is about 19 1/4 inches in diameter (including the starburst). The clock face itself is about 6 1/2 inches. **Q: Is the wood really orange?** A: The wood is stained. Mine is not really orange, more brown with orangey undertones. I would think each one may be a little different. I think mine is beautiful. Nice to have new options available for sunbrust clocks so you do not have to restore the vintage ones. Takes a AA battery instead of having a cord like the vintage ones as well. Wood is a pretty orange brown. The black and chrome is nice and shiny. Many have complained here about not being able to read this clock. We are not having any issues with reading it. It shows up well since the clock hands are wider than the numeric indications on the face. It is a good size for a bedroom or bathroom. Maybe too small for a large room (if you want to read the clock from across the room.) The wood comprising the rays is left natural and has a slightly orange appearance; it is not laquered or varnished.
