The deluxe has a stand on the back that allows you to sit it on a table and point is towards you. **Q: what is deluxe about this compared to the regular o2cool neckace fan?** A: The fan in this is actually a lot more powerful than other brands, this kept my face cool to my visit in Jamaica which is a very very humid place. Its worth the buy. And it works even better in places not as humid as Jamaica. **Q: Can the lanyard be swapped out with a "nicer" one of my own?** A: Yes, if you carefully take the fan apart, you can swap it out for a nicer one. I found the weight of this heavier but didn't bother my neck. Size is a bit larger than my other fan. I missed having different speed settings but this fan is quieter. I found the power button on this is less likely to get accidentally turned on due to location. If I was to modify this I'd put mesh screening over openings. I'd also make it possible to charge replaceable hi capacity batteries in it. Overall a good value & design; intake isn't easily blocked while wearing. No issues with durability so far.
